Cory Hess was born in Cornwall, Ontario.

He moved to British Columbia and became an outstanding goalie while playing for Vancouver. He played for thirty years and never missed a game. He participated in numerous Mann and Minto Cup championships.

Cory further contributed to the development of lacrosse as secretary-treasurer of the British Columbia Lacrosse Association and coach and general manager of several junior men's and women's senior lacrosse teams.
