He starred with Orillia, Ontario, in two Mann Cup victories and again with St. Catharines where he earned the reputation of being a great playmaker and penalty killer. A tireless worker, he was picked up several times by Eastern teams traveling to the West.

Joe scored over 500 goals in a career that spanned fifteen years and played in eight Mann Cup championships, winning five times.
