1996 Nirmal Dillon 427

is accurately described as a diminutive man with a huge competitive heart and a gigantic understanding of the game of lacrosse. This 5'6", 1'5 lb. Victoria, British Columbia, native joined the Shamrocks of the WLA in 1965. During an eleven-season career in the WLA, Nirmal, a defensive specialist, penalty killer, and playmaker, picked up 617 points in '4' games, and was named to the WLA All-Star team on three occasions. He was also named the 1970 Maitland Trophy winner for combining skill, sportsmanship, and contribution to minor lacrosse. In the years since his 1975 retirement from the Shamrocks, Nirmal has been named WLA Coach of the Year three times. He also coached the Esquimalt Legion Junior A squad to three Minto Cup national finals and one National Championship. Nirmal proudly joins his brother Ranjit (1984) in the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
