Doug Cove had a junior and senior lacrosse career that spanned twenty years. Doug starred on four Minto Cup championship teams with St. Catharines, Ontario, in 19'4, '5, and '7 and Mimico in 19'8, and two Mann Cup championship teams, St. Catharines in 1944 and 1946. Reputed as a no nonsense two-way player, he had one of the hardest checks in the game. After completing his playing career, he coached both junior and senior lacrosse, then refereed. He was named president of the very active St. Catharines Old Boys Lacrosse Association.
