Ross Powless - a Mohawk born on a reserve near Brantford, Ontario, he played senior box lacrosse in Eastern Canada in the early 1940's, and in Western Canada for the North Shore Indians in 1945.

He returned to play for Peterborough, Ontario, in 1946 where he starred for many seasons.

Ross took part in four Mann Cup series in the 1950's, winning the Mike Kelley MVP medal as the outstanding player in the 1953 series.
